think that traction control prevents rear wheel from locking up when you drop clutch in lower gear and lock rear wheels up for a moment on slippery surface. At least that's what i think happened from what he said. Learn to rev match your downshifts. It's not hard, your driving will be smoother, clutch will last longer, it looks cooler, it sounds cooler (blip) and last but not least it can prevent crashing your car. I'm sorry, i know it must feel terrible :(
